Gore District Council Navigator Signposts

With a total of 80 outdoor signs to erect for the local district council, Sign Advertising Gore shopped around for a solution that would give them consistency and control over the finished product.

‘We looked at using a local engineer to fabricate each sign,’ says Sign Advertising’s Jim Marshall. ‘Then we looked at the Navigator Signpost System from Signage Systems. A kit of parts, Navigator allows us to build the signs ourselves, which simplifies and speeds up the process, and gives the council a consistent style and colour across all their sites.’

The signs are being erected over time through Gore’s walking and bike trails, around council gardens and flower beds, and its public buildings. Navigator’s modular system allowed Jim to create freestanding signs with sharp, clean design lines that are easy and quick to assemble.

‘The sign frames come pre-coated in black or silver,’ says Jim, ‘in the lengths we specify.’ ’We use an ACM panel for the sign face and apply the image on top of that. Signage Systems has developed a simple in-ground mounting system to fix the frame to. And when signs change over time, graphics are easy to swap out – we simply take the frames off the mounts, replace the graphics in the factory, and then drop them back into the mounts on site.’
